Hey arnie, good luck with your final test.
I have been watching some videos on the pixhawk and the guy said that the software can be adjusted where the safety switch does not need to be used (hopefully this is correct and can be done) although not a major issue if you have to take the top cover on/off for the battery isolation.... But unfortunately I am fitting an external switch on mine so I do not need to do, so I would like to have the button disabled!!!
The buzzer is not an issue as that could stick on the side of the drone or go down one of the arms if it will fit.
I have been looking at different compass pucks as I don't think the 3dr compass is waterproof as the cables go in the side uncovered. I have seen another one that is compatible which has a sealed cable in the back so could be made waterproof if not already. I would want this to give me the option of putting the compass outside in the future to get more battery storage or to reduce interference.
The pixhawk does have a compass already installed in the controller which goes down the right hand side so long as battery etc kept away from that it should be ok to fit dual battery's. In the mission planner software you can change the default orientation of the pixhawk so you can mount it a different way to give more room inside. It's good that you can see the interference caused in the software so you can make changes and see if it will effect the controller before flying it.
Here is Stephen's drone with the pixhawk installed with the 3dr compass.
In the video below he states at 18 min 30 sec regarding the safety switch.
