I talked with the guys at Urban Drone and they say the new auto drone has no more issues with looking connectivity or the stability issues. Is that true?
They also said if there is a malfunction in the unit then they will cover it under warranty, then they tell me that 98% of the issues are actually user error. Which sounds to me like if I have crash its a 98% chance that I will have to pay for the damage and they are really good at finding a way to say it is user error.
I am drone shopping right now, the splash is the right application for me I only own boats. I am a commercial fisherman in Alaska and have several reasons to be in cold wet weather. I would like a drone that I could fly in the rain and not loose because it sunk to the bottom of the ocean. But the issues I have read about here and other places say don't buy the drone. Except for Urban Drones who say the problems are fixed.
The other drones I am considering are the phantom 4 pro plus and the Autel x-star premium. I was thinking I could take the time and effort to cote the electronics with silicon or some sort of waterproofing. Maybe use bulb grease for the battery connection area to keep that dry and be able to fly in the rain. Does anyone here think I could do that successfully? If so would it be a better idea to go with the autel as it has less electronics and sensors or would that matter?
I have never flown a drone and hear this one is a bit more complicated to fly.
The main question I have: Are the problems still persist even with the updates or Will it be a waste of my money to buy this drone?
